How did I choose the exemplars in my e-Portfolio?

When trying to decide what to include in my e-Portfolio, I consulted the literature but still had difficulty in envisioning my own portfolio. So, I consulted a few examples of other on-line portfolios (Fletcher, n.d., UBC, 1999, Lorenzo & Ittelson, 2005). These were extremely helpful and allowed me to develop a much clearer picture of what I wanted to include.
As an adult educator, I decided that it would be most valuable to create a developmental type of e-Portfolio which could demonstrate my on-going growth and development as an educator. Thus, I attempted to balance practical pieces, such as: my resume and the descriptive portion of my teaching portfolio, with reflective pieces, such as: my personal teaching philosophy and metaphor. This allowed me to reflect on my past practice while considering the path of my future practice.
